‘Human Landscapes from My Country’ is a new play performed by Memet A. Alabora and directed by Phil Mackenzi. Human Landscapes from My Country is an epic poem from the legendary poet Nazim Hikmet and it consists of 17.000 verses, offering portraits of varying lengths about ordinary people caught up in the wars, occupations, and independence of Turkey.
Art Direction & Poster Design
There is a really interesting bond between Memet Ali and Nazim Hikmet. Memet grew up with Nazim poems and is a very big fan of his poetry. But also the similarities between their life events are startling. Consequently we wanted to highlight the similarities between the performer and the writer by bringing an iconic picture of the poet and Memet Ali’s portrait.
We teamed up with the talented Takura for the photography.
We have also designed a style for the the production companies Instagram grid and will be managing their socials throughout the play’s tour.
